Here’s what makeup artists pay Ritual

$0
  • No monthly subscription
  • No commission on your work
  • No setup or onboarding fee
  • No card fee skimmed from your payouts

You keep 100% of your prices. There’s just one fee — a small one your clients cover at checkout. Here’s exactly how it works.

So how is Ritual free?

No catch — we just don’t make our money from you. A small booking fee (about 10%) is added on top at your client’s checkout, and it covers everything behind the scenes.

Your client pays $55 $50 deposit + ~$5 fee
You receive $50 100% of your price
Ritual keeps ~$5 card processing, payouts, reminders & the app

Want your clients to pay less? You can choose to absorb the fee or split it — your call. Either way: no subscription, no commission, and nothing deducted from what you charge.

One free app instead of six paid ones

Ritual rolls up the tools you’re cobbling together — and doesn’t charge you for any of it.

  • Booking link & intake form Linktree, Google Forms, “DM to book”
  • Calendar & scheduling Calendly, Acuity, paper calendar
  • Deposits & payments Venmo, e-transfer, Cash App, chasing
  • Client chat & reminders Instagram DMs, endless text threads
  • Client history & notes Notes app, screenshots, spreadsheets

Pricing questions, answered

Is it really free for makeup artists?
Yes. $0 — no subscription, no commission, and nothing deducted from your payouts. You keep 100% of the prices you set.
Then how does Ritual make money?
A small fee is added on top at the client’s checkout — the way card fees usually work — and it’s paid by the client by default. For example, on a $50 deposit your client pays about $55; the full $50 lands in your account, and the few dollars covers card processing and keeping Ritual running. You can choose to cover or split that fee, but you’re never required to.
Will you start charging artists later?
No. Free for artists is the whole point. If we add premium, power-user tools down the road they’ll be optional — the booking link, deposits, payments, chat, and reminders stay free.
How quickly do I get paid?
Deposits and final payments are sent to your bank, typically within 1–2 business days of the appointment.
Do you have something for studios or teams?
Yes — the Studio plan is also $0. You get one studio link that auto-assigns bookings, a shared calendar, and a separate page and calendar for every artist. No per-seat fees.
What about salons, barbers, and spas?
They’re next on the roadmap, and the promise doesn’t change: the artist never pays to take a booking. See the vision →
